Greetings from the Newberry County Literacy Council! We hope to begin a new year off with a new book and activities to do to serve and enrich our community.

This week, the Weekly Reader will read The Risen by Ron Rash. It details a story of two brothers, a summer of years past that continue to haunt them, alongside a woman catching their attention in the mix of things they've hidden that are bound to be unveiled. Come join us on Tuesdays from 11AM - 12PM at 1208 Main St. as we discuss more of this riveting story!

We also want to invite you to a Cooking Matters session at our local Food Lion on Wilson Road in Newberry. The segment is called Cooking Matters at the Store, where we will have a tour of our grocery store and discuss how we can make healthier choices on a budget through reading nutrition labels and comparing unit prices.
